Chinese AI General Course to Be Integrated into the Curricula of All Majors at Indonesian Vocational Institutions

Witnessed by Oki Earlivan Sampurno, Special Adviser to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, and Chen Wu, Education Counselor of the Embassy of China in Indonesia, Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU), on behalf of the Chinese member institutions of the Alliance, signed a cooperation agreement with the Forum of Directors of State Polytechnics in Indonesia (FDPNI) in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). According to the agreement, Chinese vocational education general courses on artificial intelligence will be integrated into the curriculum systems of all majors across 44 national polytechnics and 139 vocational education colleges affiliated with public universities under the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.

It is reported that AI has been designated by the President of Indonesia as a strategic technology priority for national development. In his address at the annual conference, Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia, spoke highly of China's achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and praised the signing of this agreement, describing it as a good move. He expressed the hope that the cooperation would not remain confined to the education sector but would also leverage AI technology to improve the livelihoods of the Indonesian people.

Under the agreement, LZPU will coordinate the resources of Chinese member institutions of the Alliance to carry out comprehensive cooperation with Indonesian counterparts in the following areas: co-development of general AI courses, joint formulation of AI program standards, upgrading of programs under the "AI+" model, teacher training for AI-related disciplines, and vocational skills competitions. This initiative marks another key step to advance the systematic implementation of China's vocational education standards in artificial intelligence across Indonesia. It will support Indonesia in cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents suited to the intelligent era.
